Community Broadband Update

Just a quick community broadband update. Preparation work is continuing along nicely with some sites now ready for poles and cabinet wiring.

We hope details of the packages will be up on the website in the next week or two. Scotnet have been waiting for the new BDUK voucher scheme to go live with any rule changes etc. and they (the government) seem to be taking a while to get this sorted!

Ali Macqueen has now completed the cable installation works at Gask and Leanach, so that's 7 sites done. Hopefully we'll get another couple by the end of this week. The first two masts are now off to be galvanised, and we're planning a date for installation - probably end of next week. They are Achnabat and An Torr.

In terms of cost, it will be in the region of £35 a month for an unlimited household connection of up to 30 Mbps. There will be a slightly cheaper option for households who don't need superfast speeds and also a higher spec business option. There will also be the option to get a bundled price with line rental.

Keep an eye on the strathnairn Facebook page and the broadband website below for more details,
