STRATHNAIRN COMMUNITY BENEFIT FUND
The Strathnairn Community Benefit Fund has been in existence since 2004 following completion of negotiations between Npower and Strathnairn and Strathdearn Communities allowing the erection of a wind farm outside Farr. At its inception the Strathnairn Community Benefit Fund was established as a limited company, with the Strathnairn Community Council as its sole shareholder, and also as a charity. The fund is controlled by a Board of Directors which has responsibility for grant allocation and management of the monies within the fund. The key objectives of the Strathnairn Community Benefit Fund are stated in the Memorandum of Association as “the promotion, for the benefit of the public, of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation and in particular in the Strathnairn Community Council area.”
