02 July 2020B851 Inverarnie Village Improvement Scheme

As advised a couple of weeks ago the B851 Village Improvement Scheme between the B851/B861 has recommenced. This will continue over this week and next preparing the site for the surfacing works. This has been managed by the Contractor under traffic management and the Community’s patience with the short delays to safely manage them through the works is very much appreciated.

Later this week final surfacing work on the shared-use path will be completed and thereafter kerbing works, access completion and drainage works. The passing place immediately prior to the southern end of the works on the Dalvourn side of the Gateway feature will be extended and improved.  This will encourage it’s use further and improve separation/safety for path users.

Completion of the resurfacing will require a part-time Road Closure during Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July 2020 between the hours of 0900 to 1700.

Vehicular traffic will be prohibited during these times through the extent of the works although access for emergency services, bus services and refuse collections will be maintained under the direction and supervision of the Contractor.  Residents living within the extents of the Closure will be provided access again under the direction and supervision of the Contractor.  Pedestrians and cyclists will also be permitted through the works via the new shared-use path under the direction and supervision of the Contractor.  Physical distancing will be carried out during all these operations.  The cooperation of the public in maintaining physical distancing when travelling through the site is requested.

There will be a temporary diversion in place via the Brin/Dunlichity/Balnafoich Road for Light Vehicles Only. HGVs will be diverted via the B861 and B862 towards Inverness as the local diversion route is unsuitable for HGV traffic.

Outwith these times traffic will be managed under appropriate traffic management arrangements by the Contractor for the safety of the public, site personnel and to protect newly laid surfacing material.
